In Madrid, Padel Drives Inclusion Forward
Sport and solidarity
From May 18 to 28, 2026, the courts of the Padel Sports Center in Tres Cantos, near Madrid, hosted the fourth edition of the Solidarity Padel Tournament organized by the AMI-3 association, an event supported by the INDIGO Foundation. Over the course of ten days, nearly 160 participants came together around a shared goal: promoting the inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
For more than 30 years, AMI-3 has been supporting people with disabilities and their families, helping to foster autonomy, inclusion, and active participation in community life. From May 18 to 28, the association organized a tournament at the Padel Sports Center near Madrid. One of the event’s distinctive features was the direct involvement of the people supported by the association in its organization. Welcoming players, distributing water and gifts, taking photographs, and leading awareness-raising activities: the active participation of people with disabilities provided a concrete illustration of the values of inclusion championed by AMI-3. Through this tournament, the association notably supports initiatives aimed at combating isolation, increasing access to leisure activities, and promoting greater independence.
This year, four employees from INDIGO Spain took part in the event, forming a dedicated team that competed in the tournament. It was a great opportunity to come together around a sporting challenge while contributing to a meaningful initiative. During the closing ceremony, Álvaro Busca, CEO of INDIGO Spain, presented one of the trophies to the winners on behalf of the INDIGO Foundation, highlighting our commitment alongside the association. Beyond the matches, participants had the opportunity to learn more about AMI-3’s work and engage with the people it supports.
During the event, Javier Paz Antolín, Director of AMI-3, praised the commitment of partners and sponsors and emphasized how essential their support is in helping fund projects that improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and strengthen their place in society.
The INDIGO Foundation is proud to have supported this initiative and to have seen the strong involvement of INDIGO Spain’s teams in this tournament, which demonstrates that sport can be a powerful driver of inclusion, solidarity, and the common good.
