Relay for Life 2025: a day for cancer awareness and hope

Sport and solidarity

On February 8, 2025, the Relay for Life event brought together over 1,000 participants at the Alfonso López Pumarejo Stadium of the Colombian National University. Families, businesses, and health professionals were united for a day dedicated to the fight against cancer. Supported by the INDIGO Foundation, this event was organized by the Colombian League Against Cancer, and aimed to raise awareness and honor patients, survivors and caregivers.

Throughout the day, the main event was the symbolic 12-hour relay race, embodying perseverance and collective action. Beyond the race, the event offered a diverse program, including an entrepreneurship fair, a gastronomic showcase, recreational activities, and artistic performances. The luminary ceremony provided a moving tribute to those affected by cancer, celebrating patients and survivors sharing their stories, with messages of resilience and hope.

Fundraising and strategic partnerships were also key objectives, ensuring the expansion of early detection programs in vulnerable communities. City Parking teams (INDIGO Group) played also a role with employees, including directors and managers, actively participating. Their presence extended to Mama Home, a breast cancer awareness booth.

The Colombian League Against Cancer, already supported by the INDIGO Foundation, led another key awareness initiative last October: the Pink Route, dedicated to breast cancer prevention. The event highlighted the importance of early detection and access to healthcare, reinforcing the League’s commitment to cancer awareness year-round.
