Solid’Art – A Contemporary Art Fair

Every year, the French “Fédération du Nord du Secours Populaire” organizes the “Solid’Art” contemporary art fair, during which hundreds of local artists exhibit and sell their work and collect donations for the association. Funds raised during the event are dedicated to the “Enfants sans vacances” campaign by the Secours Populaire initiated to support underprivileged children who cannot afford to go on vacation. The INDIGO Foundation has been supporting the organization of Solid’Art in Lille since 2023, following an initial sponsorship by INDIGO in 2022.

The Solid’Art fair has become a key event for contemporary art and solidarity in Lille, ranked 2nd in the region of Hauts de France. Solid’Art mobilizes local artists (painters, sculptors, photographers, visual artists, street artists, etc.) to showcase their work and raise funds for Secours Populaire’s solidarity initiatives. Solid’Art is aimed not only at art lovers, but also at people supported by Secours Populaire, as well as anyone wishing to find out more about the association and express their solidarity. As such, admission to the show is always free, promoting access to art and culture for all. Discovery and creation workshops are also organized for children.

In addition to the support provided by the INDIGO Foundation, INDIGO promotes the event in its parking lots (posters, ticket labelling, etc.) and also takes advantage of the opportunity to bring art into its parking lots, by commissioning or exhibiting a work by the festival’s sponsor. For example, in 2024, artist Sandrot painted the fire doors of the Eurallile parking lot and decorated the elevator kiosk on the Grand Place. In 2023, artist Damien Demaiter created a monumental glass display on the same site.
