The Livre sur la Place

The Livre sur la Place is organised by the City of Nancy in association with the booksellers’ association “Lire à Nancy”, under the patronage of the Académie Goncourt since its creation in 1979. It is the leading national fair for the new literary season, and takes place every year on the second weekend in September on the Place de la Carrière. Entirely free of charge, it welcomes over 500 authors and a hundred or so events.

In the heart of Nancy’s 18th-century UNESCO World Heritage site, authors, publishers and journalists get the literary awards season off to a flying start over a 3-day period. The event offers a very wide audience a unique and eclectic programme featuring almost 200 writers. Novels, essays, comic strips, all genres are represented. Numerous “off-site” events are also organised as part of the fair to reach out to all kinds of audiences.

The INDIGO Foundation is delighted to be a patron of the 45th edition of the show, which takes place from 8 to 10 September 2023.

In addition to this support, INDIGO is organising the 10th edition of the “Livre sous la place”, a unique event at the show featuring a unique morning of meetings and book signings in the basement of its Charles III car park, in the presence of author Mazarine Pingeot.
