The Stars of Classical Music Festival
Les Étoiles du Classique is poised to become the premier event for showcasing tomorrow’s talent to the general public and aims to be a benchmark springboard for the new generation of artists, aged between eighteen and thirty. Graduates of leading national conservatories and chosen for their artistic and human qualities, these musicians at the start of their careers are already in demand in France and often abroad.
For four days each year, over 200 highly talented young artists perform in 12 concerts at the Théâtre Alexandre Dumas, the Église Saint-Germain and outdoors in the château grounds of the Domaine National de Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Keen to attract an ever wider and more varied audience, the Festival offers a wide variety of concerts: chamber music, open-air symphonic concerts, opera, dance, jazz and other unique formats.
In partnership with the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) and the École Normale Cortot, the Festival promotes the professional integration of these young artists: some 65 young soloists perform at the Festival, and over 70 talented musicians, students and alumni join the Orchestre des Jeunes d’Île-de-France (OJIF) for an exceptional symphonic concert.
Les Étoiles du Classique is also a socially engaged festival whose aim is to make music and musical culture accessible to everyone, and in particular to young audiences. To this end, the festival is developing a cultural mediation program that includes raising awareness among schoolchildren and inviting them to concerts, offering special invitations to autistic children and children from disadvantaged backgrounds, and presenting musical performances in hospitals for sick children. The festival aims to involve over 1,000 young children and 100 autistic children through its actions.
