A new season for the Cavigal women’s soccer team in Nice

For 70 years, CAVIGAL in Nice has been a key player in the city’s sporting life. In 2023, a new chapter in its history began thanks to the support of the INDIGO Foundation, with the creation of a women’s soccer team within the club. This launch marked an important step in providing access to sport for young girls from disadvantaged neighborhoods, an initiative described in this article: Kick-off for the women’s soccer team in Nice – INDIGO Foundation.

One of the highlights of the first season was the first women’s soccer tournament held in Nice in January 2024. It was a day of sports and fun, symbolizing the enthusiasm generated by this new section.

One year later, the team played its second season with pride and solidarity. In total, around 30 young women were able to learn or improve their soccer skills in a structured and supportive environment.

The support provided by the INDIGO Foundation made it possible to:

• Provide full kits for training and matches
• Finance licenses for the most disadvantaged players
• Invest in sports equipment
• Organize tournaments promoting encounters between teams and neighborhoods and promoting women’s soccer

On the field, the season was full of excitement, progress, and cohesion. The players, now very close, have all chosen to continue the adventure and will soon be joined by new recruits, proof of the project’s success.
