Sport Club Santamarca in Madrid celebrates a successful first season in Spain
Sport
The Santamarca Foundation welcomes children and teenagers to its school in Madrid, offering them a bilingual, personalized education rooted in humanist and inclusive values, with particular attention to each student’s educational and social needs, in order to foster their personal development, academic success, and integration into society. Launched last year with the support of the INDIGO Foundation, the Sport Club Santamarca has offered dozens of children aged 4 to 15 the chance to discover team sports and the important values they promote.
Throughout the 2024–2025 season, 78 pupils took part in football (35 participants), basketball (25 participants) and volleyball (18 participants aged 13–15). Seven dedicated coaches and instructors ran after-school sessions, helping the children develop their skills while learning about respect and teamwork.
Beyond training, the club organised school competitions, friendly matches, awareness days and masterclasses. Local INDIGO teams also joined the recent “Mini Olimpiadas” of the Santamarca Foundation, sponsoring trophies and providing merchandise for all participants and winners.
The Sport Club Santamarca shows how sport can bring young people together, and will certainly continue to do so after this first successful year!
