On Sunday June 30, 2024, the 110 musicians of the Orchestre de la place de l’Europe performed on the stage of the Grand Auditorium of the Philharmonie Luxembourg. A demanding, flagship event for its participants, who had been preparing all season. Founded by the Philharmonie Luxembourg and supported by the INDIGO Foundation, this orchestra creates a network of amateur musicians who meet weekly to play high-quality symphonic music in a convivial atmosphere.

Conducted by Benjamin Schäfer, a member of the Luxembourg Orchestra, the musicians work on an extremely varied repertoire, ranging from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to Dmitri Shostakovich, via Antonín Dvořák, Claude Debussy, Modeste Moussorgski, as well as contemporary music and much more.

The Grand Auditorium, which seats almost 1,500 people, was full on Sunday to enjoy the performance, in a festive atmosphere from start to finish.
